PC Doctor

Working

Checks an entire PC and writes a plain-English report on what is actually wrong.

Sweeps CPU, GPU, memory, disks, drivers, thermals, battery and attached equipment. The hard part is not running checks, it is not crying wolf: a diagnostic that reports twenty scary-sounding non-problems gets ignored, so the design goal is suppressing false alarms rather than maximising test count. It never applies a fix unattended.

Built

Answers what the best product is for a job, and shows which claims it could actually verify.

The interesting problem turned out to be provenance. Most large retailers block automated reading outright, so a tool that quietly fills the gap with a guess is indistinguishable from one that genuinely checked. This one separates what it read from what it could not reach, and says which is which.

Video Maker

Built

Turns a script and a folder of clips into a finished, captioned video.

Narration is produced locally, one sentence at a time, so each caption's timing is measured from the audio that was actually rendered rather than estimated from word count. That is the difference between subtitles that drift and subtitles that land on the word. Desktop application, double-click to run, no subscription in the pipeline.

How I work

One person does all of this, so method matters more than headcount.

I measure instead of guessingNumbers on this site come from running the thing and reading the result, not from estimating. Where I could not measure something, I say so rather than rounding up.
I check what already exists firstMost problems are already solved by a setting inside software you pay for. Finding that costs you an hour of my time; building a replacement costs you weeks.
I test against reality, not against my own assumptionsA build that compiles is not a build that works, and a passing test written from a guess proves nothing. I check the finished artifact, not the process that produced it.
You own everythingAccounts, data, credentials and code are yours from day one. Nothing I set up depends on me still being around.
